Whether your focus is continuing professional development, compliance training or simply cultivating a strong e-learning culture - the team at Catalyst can help implement, customise and optimise your workplace Moodle to deliver a positive employee experience.
What is Moodle Workplace?
Built on the core foundation of Moodle Learning Management System (LMS), Moodle Workplace is an open source (no licence fees), customisable solution for the delivery of workplace learning and development.
This short 1.5 minute video provides an overview of Moodle Workplace
Moodle Workplace key features
Moodle Workplace contains all the Moodle LMS features, plus much more:
Programs, also known as Learning Paths - establish training paths for your employees grouping courses and content into programs.
Certifications, also known as Compliance Training - create recurring certifications based on programs with a defined validity period that need to be retaken and keep your employee certifications up to date.
Organisation structure - adapt the software to your company structure defining roles and hierarchies that automatically create reporting lines. Assign management rights and security permissions to each role.
Multi-tenancy - multi-tenancy architecture allows you to give each of your divisions, departments or franchises their own full LMS platform with custom permissions so you can delegate the LMS management to the people actually doing the job.
Dynamic rules - save on your admin time by automating common processes such as enrolments, certification allocations, messaging and lots more with a set of ‘if this then that’ rules that you can define, template and save.
Report builder - save time by generating reports easily in a drag and drop interface with instant preview, filtering and aggregation of data from various sources, including the Workplace Datastore. Schedule reports to be sent automatically to different audiences.
Certificates - design, issue and verify digital certificates on completion of courses, programs and certifications.
Appointments - helps trainers to set up face-to-face appointments with students.
Migration - offers the capacity to export different parts of a Moodle Workplace instance and import them into the same or a different site.
Moodle Workplace latest version
Moodle Workplace 3.11 is based on the latest release of Moodle LMS to better support workplace learning and engagement. The new features include:
Report builder – share your reports with the right people
Generate customised reports in a drag-and-drop interface with instant preview and filtering
Refine who can access each Report even further: add people to audiences based on departments, positions, cohorts and system roles, as well as add them manually.
Custom report scheduling allows you to periodically share reports to specified audiences
Customise your dashboard and tabs with two new blocks
The Learning Overview tab (where users see all their courses) and the My Teams tab (where managers see their teams) can now be added as standard blocks to the user dashboard, so your team members can personalise their learning experience even more.
Authenticate with SAML 2.0 via plugin
Moodle Workplace 3.11 release will work seamlessly with the upcoming version of the SAML 2.0_auth plugin, developed and maintained by the team at Catalyst IT. The plugin will support multi-tenancy so that you can personalise authentication methods for each of your tenants.
Provide clear, easy-to-spot requirements for activities
The Student Activity Completion feature enhancements enable learners and staff to get a much clearer overview of their upcoming activities and work by displaying the completion criteria, opening dates and closing dates for all activities on a course.
There’s also a new completion criterion for Appointment activities, where learners need to make a booking for a session or webinar to have the activity marked as done.
Assess the accessibility of your content
The Accessibility checker helps identify common accessibility issues in your course content, that can be displayed as a heat map or identified on a report with direct links for you to easily navigate to each issue and fix it.
