Shaun Boyd
Shaun Boyd is Manager of Educational Technologies at Melbourne Polytechnic, where he works with the Learning Environments team in supporting the design and delivery of flexible, student-centred learning. His current research interests focus on the intersection of learning analytics, educational data mining, and the sociology of learning – exploring how digital systems can better support student engagement and institutional effectiveness. Shaun has played a leading role in multiple large-scale technology transitions, including Melbourne Polytechnic’s recent migration to Moodle, with a focus on strategic planning, stakeholder collaboration, and sustainable innovation.

Ryan Elwell
Ryan is a 20-year veteran of the classroom, teaching physics, engineering, and STEM in three countries before shifting to his current role as Director of Digital Education in the ACT. Ryan develops extensive programs and resources to support teachers, using his PhD studies to inform his work. With a passion for human-centered digital pedagogies, he brings a focus on connecting people to Google tools and Artificial Intelligence in ways that amplify teaching practice. Ryan is a Google Trainer and Innovator, and works to reveal human-centred uses of technology to improve accessibility and equity, supports ethical and safe integration of tech into classrooms, and builds connections to accomplish shared goals.
In this session, Ryan will provide an actionable roadmap for educators, focusing on intentional design, transparency, and celebrating “the human-ness” of learning.
Sean Allen
Sean Allen is the Senior Manager of Product Enablement at National Broadband Network (NBN Co), where he has led key product and EdTech initiatives, including the implementation of Moodle Workplace and the launch of the NBN Academy – NBN’s external-facing Learning Management System. With a background spanning product operations, enterprise capability, instructional design and development within the telecommunications sector, Sean is passionate about delivering scalable and innovative EdTech solutions that drive industry-wide transformation.
In this session, Sean will showcase how the nbn® Academy has delivered scalable, enterprise-grade learning across the telecommunications sector. Leveraging Moodle Workplace, Sean and his team have consolidated legacy LMS platforms into a unified, modern solution that supports both residential and business product training for Retail Service Providers (RSPs), developers, and workforce delivery partners.
