It’s that time of the year when 130+ Moodle Certified Partners from all over the world come together for an annual Partner meeting to share ideas and to celebrate new milestones. It is also the time for Moodle Certified Partner Awards, recognising partners for their contributions to Moodle LMS and the wider open-source community.
A double win for Catalyst!
We’re proud to announce that Catalyst has been named Global Partner of the Year 2026!
In addition, our team has received Community Contributor of the Year award second year in a row!
The Community Contributor Award recognises contributions that help enrich the Moodle ecosystem, from developing plugins and improving functionality to supporting community-led initiatives that benefit Moodle users worldwide.
The 2026 award recognises our work on the Multiple Marker Project, a win that would not be possible without our amazing clients. Led by Alistair Spark of University College London (UCL), the Project is a collaboration between the Catalyst IT team (with significant contributions by Catalyst IT Europe and Catalyst IT Australia) and our university clients from across the globe, including UCL, Monash University (Australia) and King’s College London, and Moodle HQ.
Building on the success of our Quiz and Question Bank project, the Multiple Marker initiative continues Catalyst’s commitment to community-driven innovation, delivering meaningful improvements to the Moodle experience for educators and learners worldwide.
This initiative helped bring multiple marker assessments to Moodle starting in Moodle 5.2, with latest improvements in Moodle 5.3.
Positive impact to date includes:
- Support for multiple markers on a single assessment
- Each marker can operate independently within a structured workflow
- Reduced overhead for coordination between markers
- Making it easier to run consistent, fair grading processes
“Assessment isn’t only about grading, it’s about managing a process which can become complex quite quickly,” says Diana Adorno, Product Design Lead at Moodle HQ. “Coordinating grading across markers had been a manual, time consuming process, much of which existed outside the Moodle LMS.”
As universities grow and their educational needs evolve, there is an increasing demand for Moodle LMS to serve as a central hub for teaching and learning, one that can adapt and scale alongside ever changing requirements.
Streamlining processes within an LMS is an ongoing challenge. Universities and other large and growing organisations need workflows that are efficient, easy to manage and aligned with end goals, without adding unnecessary complexity. The Multiple Marker Project has made significant strides in addressing these challenges for our university clients, improving assessment workflows and helping them manage marking more effectively within Moodle.
Supporting Moodle innovation at scale
Over the years, the Catalyst IT team has championed community-led innovation, bringing clients, developers and the Moodle HQ team together to deliver improvements that benefit the wider Moodle community.
Moodle’s Community Contributor award highlights what we believe makes Moodle so powerful: a global community working collaboratively to share knowledge, solve challenges and continually improve the platform for everyone, educators and learners.
“Winning both awards is a fantastic recognition of the dedication and expertise of our people, the trust our clients place in us and the collaborative relationships we share across the Moodle community.”
With deep Moodle expertise that dates 20+ years, global capabilities and ISO 27001 certification, Catalyst IT provide a range of Moodle services to major universities, colleges and other education providers, as well as government agencies and organisations across the health, not-for-profit and commercial sectors.
A huge congratulations to the global Catalyst team, and a sincere thank you to our clients and partners. Your collaboration and support help make these achievements possible.
Congratulations to all the Moodle Certified Partner Award winners of 2026!
