Catalyst extends an open invite to the library community, to hear Joann Ransom, on her Koha world tour.
Come along to find out how Koha library management system became the software platform chosen by thousands of libraries globally.
Catalyst and PTFS Europe are delighted to host Joann Ransom, who is taking three months to visit some of the many libraries and locations around the world, where the Koha library management system is used.
An open invitation is extended to the Library Community of London and surrounds, to meet and hear from Joann at an event to be held at CILIP [link to: http://www.cilip.org.uk/] on Tuesday 6th September 2016, 13.30pm. Further details and bookings are here.
Joann Ransom is a Librarian, and member of the original Koha Project team in 1999. She recently left Horowhenua Libraries, where she was the CEO for the impressive Library, Community and Cultural Centre, Te Takere. Joann is taking three months to travel, and share the stories of how Koha, and Te Takere, came to be.
Catalyst have known Joann as a customer for the last six years, and for much longer as part of software and library communities. Catalyst Director, Don Christie says, “It’s a wonderful opportunity to hear a remarkable story of how a small town library in New Zealand seeded a hugely successful free software product that is now popular all over the world”.
Tickets are free. Please register if you are planning to join us.
If you’re hoping to find an event close to home, Joann is documenting her itinerary.
